When walking through Schooner's Wharf LBI it’s nearly impossible to miss the giant ship with a shop in it. What you’re looking at is a homage to the Lucy Evelyn; a schooner built 1917.

The Lucy Evelyn retired and was sold to the Ewer family in 1948, dragged ashore and made into “The Sea Chest”, a gift and novelty shop later part of Schooner’s Wharf. It remained a popular tourist attraction until it was sadly destroyed by a fire in February 1972.

Whittingham Coffee House and their team love donating coffee to the LBI Historical Museum History Happens Here series and learning more about LBI!
The next one will be at the museum May 27th.

Until then Whittingham Coffee House will be open Friday to Monday 7am-1pm all Spring and 7 days a week starting Memorial Day!
