A heartfelt thank you to Family Dollar in Lone Oak, TX—from Community Seeds Ministries. From the depth of our hearts, we are overflowing with gratitude for what you did for one of the most vulnerable families in our county.
Last week, a homeless family came to our care at our homeless ranch in Lone Oak, TX. The need was urgent. She—while her husband is severely disabled—earnestly wanted to work. But there was one heartbreaking gap: they had no transportation. Without it, even if she secured a job, there was no way it could last.
She had worked at Family Dollar before, but that was in Kaufman County, not Lone Oak.
Then God—through people—began doing something extraordinary:
The manager in Kaufman, TX stepped in and requested a transfer so she could move to the Lone Oak store.
The transfer was approved.
But even with that answered request, she still couldn’t get to and from work without reliable transportation.
And then the second miracle happened—because of the spirit and compassion shown at Family Dollar:
Tammy, the store manager in **Lone Oak, TX, didn’t just “help.”
She gathered her team.
And they chose the right thing—going beyond what was expected.
Together, they agreed to provide transportation for the newly hired worker each morning and late evenings.
That is service about self.
That is love in motion.
What Tammy and her team displayed is deeply biblical:
“In humility… count others more significant than yourselves”
“Look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:3–4)
They didn’t merely offer the right words. They lived them. In that moment, it wasn’t just about getting to a job—it was about protecting dignity, restoring stability, and keeping hope alive.
This is how communities heal. When people truly help their neighbors:
lives are strengthened
futures are protected
hope becomes real
Family Dollar—Lone Oak, TX, please know this: what you did mattered. It did more than help someone keep employment. You protected a future. You gave a homeless worker a genuine chance to rise.
We’re praying for Tammy and every person on that team. And we’re asking our community: when you visit Family Dollar in Lone Oak, Texas, please look for Tammy and simply tell her thank you—for leading with love and representing God through action.
Thank you, Family Dollar.
Thank you, Tammy.
Thank you, team.
You helped turn “can’t” into “kept.”
You gave hope with your hands—and with your hearts.
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
— John 13:34–35 (NLT)
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”
— 1 John 4:7
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
— Romans 12:10
Amen.
