God is still faithful. God still provides. And God still cares.
Whatever your situation is today or wherever you find yourself we want to let you know you are loved, cared for, and needed. God never leaves us. No matter how dark things seem to be sometimes. He is the light that will always be with us.
Sometimes He shows up for us through you. Our hope is that He sometimes shows up for you through us. We are thankful for you all everyday.

$13, God, and You (Original post from Adam)
I never know how much to share on social media. I’m not savvy enough to know what will hurt us from our public perspective (in terms of wanting to portray the picture of success that drives people in). But if I ever start caring more about marketing than I do glorifying God and telling the truth, then I no longer need to be in this business.
Our Pay it Forward board will always hold a special place in my heart. Alan and I come from teaching and barber backgrounds so we didn’t have a huge bankroll starting out. In July of last year, we’d been open for about 2.5 months. We were doing relatively well for a new business, but lots of big expenses hit us all at once (paying off our construction bill, new equipment, etc.).
We opened on a Wednesday morning in July with $13 in our bank account. I didn’t know if we’d have enough money to make it to Thursday (we could’ve started piling debt onto credit cards but that becomes a vortex that’s very difficult to get out of). I was struggling, doubting God, and our purpose.
Then a customer and I were talking about life that morning. Not about our financial situation but just struggles in general. When he finished, he left $20 to pay it forward for the next few customers that came in. I advertised that offer, and we brought in some new customers over the next hour. But as each person used the pay it forward money, they’d leave a little money for the next person.
By the end of that day, we had one of our best financial successes of any day up to that point. One person was kind enough to show generosity to us and others. That led to another person doing the same. And then another. It gave us the money to make it to Thursday. And then the next day. And the next all the way up to now. That concept eventually developed into our Pay it Forward board.
We aren’t rich by any means still, but the fear of not being able to make rent/pay our bills is subsiding. I still find myself doubting on slow days, but I hope I never lose sight of God’s protection or of your commitment to us. It doesn’t take a business degree to know that you can’t run a cafe with $13. But the same God that fed thousands with a few fish and loaves is looking over us still today.
If you don’t have the money for a coffee or shake today, come anyway. Somebody’s already paid for it for you. If you’re struggling with something, come be with people who care about you. When there doesn’t seem to be a way out, there’s always hope.
All we had was $13, God, and You. And that was enough.
