Each meal includes one protein, one vegetable, and one side.

This comeback is bigger than reopening a restaurant. It represents the mission behind It’s a Wrap Cafe. 💚🌯✨

This business was born during a season when I had to rebuild my life after divorce. 🙏🏾 After spending ten years helping operate a business with my former husband, I had to rediscover my own strength, trust my vision, and create something that belonged to me. 💪🏾👑

That is why part of our mission is to remind women of every age that their circumstances do not determine their future. 💚 We are capable of rebuilding, creating, leading, and accomplishing anything we put our minds to. 👩🏾‍💼🏆✨

Our mission is also to make healthier eating enjoyable by serving fresh, flavorful, quality food that remains accessible and affordable. 🥗🌯🍓🥑 Because healthy food should still taste GOOD! 😋💚

Through our future nonprofit efforts, we plan to bring nutritious meals and education into schools, senior communities, and other spaces where healthier options are needed. 🏫👧🏾👦🏾👵🏾👴🏾🍎

We also want to create jobs, provide opportunities, and pour back into the communities that support us. 🤝🏾💼🏘️💚

It’s a Wrap Cafe has experienced setbacks, transitions, and moments when giving up would have been easier, but the vision never changed. We are coming back stronger, better, and ready to serve every meal with the same love that built this brand. 💚🌯🙏🏾

Good morning, It’s a Wrap family! 💚🌯

Welcome to Day Two of getting all the pieces in place for our newest location! Yesterday was Day One, and we are incredibly thankful to everyone who has supported, encouraged, shared, prayed, and followed us throughout this journey.

Yesterday, I received a disturbing DM from someone who claimed she had followed me for years. She felt that I “overshare” my journey and that I should never ask my supporters or clients for assistance. According to her, I should have already had every dollar needed to reopen my restaurant.

Here is the reality. You can prepare, save, and budget, and still encounter unexpected expenses. Yesterday, we learned that turning on the electricity requires an astronomical deposit. This comes after paying deposits, purchasing restaurant equipment, completing paperwork, working on branding, and handling countless other expenses behind the scenes.

Reopening a restaurant requires much more than what people see on social media.

Celebrities and major organizations regularly ask the public to donate, invest, purchase, or support their projects, even when they already have substantial resources. Yet, when a small, Black owned, family operated business shares its needs, suddenly it is labeled as begging or oversharing.

Let me make something very clear. No GoFundMe has ever carried It’s a Wrap Cafe. I do not believe I have ever raised more than a couple hundred dollars through one. Aside from my family and close friends, no customer or follower has ever financially invested in or funded this business. People have inquired, but nobody has ever carried us.

What we have done is work, sell our food, run specials when we need to increase sales, and ask our community to share our business. Recently, we posted our Cash App because this has been a long and expensive journey back into a location where we can properly serve you. Many of you have been asking and waiting for us to return.

That is not begging. That is being transparent about the reality of rebuilding a small business.

I ultimately blocked the young lady because, as a business owner, I have the right to remove negative energy from my space, even when that energy comes from someone who may consider herself a potential customer. If you believe supporting a small business means the owner must remain silent about the journey, the obstacles, and the sacrifices, then perhaps It’s a Wrap Cafe is not the business for you, and that is perfectly okay.

People will spend their money with major corporations that do not know their names, care about their families, give back to their communities, or consider their wellbeing. Meanwhile, I have always tried to make It’s a Wrap personal. I know my clients, I care about what you have going on, and I give back to my community far more than I publicize. I do it from my heart and out of obedience to God, not for recognition.

With that being said, we are not allowing negativity to overshadow this blessing! 🙌🏾

Today is Day Two, and we are continuing to move forward. Our current priority is finding a reputable company that can come out immediately to clean our grease trap. The Health Department process may take a couple of weeks, so we are working hard to have everything completed and in place before the inspection.

From the beginning, we’ve been about fresh wraps, salads, boxed lunches, catering, and more. Right now, you may see us promoting meal prep more often simply because we’re operating in a restricted space while we prepare for our new location. But we are still here and still serving! 🙌🏾

I love my clients differently! 💚

After the weekend, it’s straight back to meal prepping! This Monday morning, between getting my children ready for school and preparing an early client delivery, I’ve been up cooking since 4 a.m. because freshness and being on time matter to me.

Trying to be a present mom while running a business by myself is extremely exhausting, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. This is what love, sacrifice, and dedication look like behind the scenes. 💚🌯

And that’s exactly what I’m doing!

It’s a Wrap Cafe was born in 2016 during one of the hardest transitions of my life. I had children depending on me, a life to rebuild, and absolutely no room to give up. Since then, I’ve experienced setbacks that could’ve made me walk away completely, but every time life tried to close the door, I found another way to keep serving, keep building, and keep believing.

This relaunch is PERSONAL. It’s bigger than wraps, salads, smoothies, catering, and meal prep. This is about turning pain into purpose, creating a legacy for my children, and proving that losing your footing does not mean you’ve lost your vision.

I’m not rebuilding to return to where I was. I’m rebuilding to become everything I knew It’s a Wrap Cafe could be! The brand survived the storm, and now it’s time for it to GROW so big that its name, its quality, and its impact speak for themselves.

Respect isn’t something I’m begging for. I’m building until it becomes undeniable. 💯

This comeback means more to me than simply reopening a restaurant. 💚

It’s a Wrap Cafe has been a part of my journey for years, and getting back to this point has taken faith, patience, sacrifice, rebuilding, and a whole lot of determination.

We are finally preparing to reopen, but there are still several things that have to happen before we can officially open our doors, permits, inspections, professional cleaning, Health Department requirements, and other reopening expenses.

Right now, I’m asking my community for two kinds of support. 💚

We are currently looking for reliable referrals for a commercial cleaning company and someone who handles grease trap cleaning/service for our initial Health Department requirements. If you know someone trustworthy, please tag them below or send their information my way.

And for everyone who has asked, “How can I help?” we are also accepting contributions toward the expenses associated with getting the cafe reopened.
