Yesterday was a REALLY long day, and to say we’re completely exhausted would be an understatement but man, what an incredible day.
We woke up tired, went to bed tired, and somehow ended the day with our hearts completely full. What happened at Flood Fest was so much bigger than an event. It was our community coming together to help people who needed it most.
We have SO many people to thank, because this day truly would not have been possible without an incredible amount of generosity, hard work, and support.
First, a HUGE thank you to Lowertown Landing and their amazing sponsor United Healthcare for helping make this event possible and believing in what we’re trying to build for our community.
Thank you to RB MAC Construction, Giro Dry Cleaners, and Slow Spokes USA for your incredibly generous donations and support.
Thank you to the 113 local businesses and individuals who donated baskets for our raffle. ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN! The generosity we saw from our community was absolutely unbelievable.
Thank you to every vendor who came out, supported the event, and so many of you who donated baskets as well. A special thank you to Just Mama LLC for donating 10% of their proceeds back to the cause.
And to our amazing volunteers. Shawna Rae, Mark Lembke, Kara Ball, Keith Ball, Jamie Curtis, Amy Rose-Drake, Wendy Lynn, Janelle Bitterman, Spencer Metzinger, and Ashley Johnson. You guys busted your butts all day long. From setup to cleanup and everything in between, you jumped in wherever you were needed. We genuinely could not have done it without you. Thank you.
A huge thank you to Mystery Machine, Atlas and The Breakout Band for donating your time, bringing the energy, and absolutely killing it on stage! 🎸
Thank you to Jumpy Bouncer Co. and West Side Studio for giving the kids some awesome entertainment and helping make the day fun for everyone. And to Proven Party Rentals for bringing out that tent last minute for us.
Thank you to the Lawson family for showing up, pitching in, and helping wherever you were needed.
And of course, a massive thank you to our entire Wide Waters staff. You worked your tails off all day, handled the craziness, and did an incredible job. We’re lucky to have you.
But most importantly… THANK YOU LOCKPORT.
You showed up in a BIG way.
Even with the rain, you came out. You bought raffle tickets. You donated. You ate. You drank. You danced. You brought your families. You supported the businesses and vendors. And most importantly, you helped your neighbors.
Because of YOU, we were able to raise over 8 THOUSAND DOLLARS yesterday to help the families impacted by the flooding.
That is what makes this community so special.
Events like Flood Fest are a reminder that when people in our community need help, Lockport shows up. We saw it yesterday, and we are incredibly grateful to be a small part of it.
We hope everyone had an amazing time at Flood Fest. We certainly did.
This is exactly what we envisioned when we started dreaming about what this property could become. A place where people come together, make memories, support local businesses, enjoy great entertainment, and most importantly, come together as a community.
We are so excited for what’s ahead, and we’re incredibly proud to continue working alongside Lowertown Landing non profit to bring more events like this to our community.
