Hello, my name is Julie Kauitzsch, I am the proud owner of The Bull Shack. I have lived in Livingston for the past 16 + years and I am an active member in our community. Including Polk County Relay for Life, G.R.A.C.E and other local charitible organizations. I am active in my church and have taught 6th grade religious education for 6 years. Past member of the board of directors and and ambassador
s. I also help as a team mom for the Polk County Special Olympic Team, The GO GETTERS. The Bull Shack is named after my son Sammy AKA “The Bull” who has a severe medical disability. When he graduated high school in 2010, I had to find something for him to do and anyone knows that with most small towns there weren’t any programs available near enough for me to get him there. I had to drive out of town and it was impossible for me to take off of work. Since Sammy loved to make smoothies at home, this idea had been stirring up for a couple of years prior to his graduating...so that is when the idea came up to find a way that I could open up a small business and Sammy could come to work with me. I didn’t want him to lose the social skills he was craving from being around his friends. He was becoming such a homebody after being home so long after high school. I quit my full time job in the insurance business in 2012 and seriously began to work on something that would benefit him. And that is how The Bull Shack came to Livingston!!! Sammy was also a Make A Wish child at the age of 8 and while living in West Texas made history and was on the Houston news. He is my inspiration for The Bull Shack.
