Scrolling shouldn't make you sad! ‼️

If your mood changes in a negative way when you're on social media, think about the accounts you're following. What are the people saying? Which pictures are you seeing?

Try unfollowing the accounts that make you feel bad and see if you notice a difference! 😊

What comes to your mind when you think of the word "health?" 🤔

Maybe it's a smaller body or someone exercising. It might also be foods traditionally seen as "healthy."

Diet culture likes to make us think these things equal health, but it's not true. We can't assume someone is or isn't healthy based on body size, whether or not they exercise or if they eat "healthy" foods.

Health is individualized and looks different for everyone!

Did you know there are certain signs which show you're at your body's ideal weight?

They include:

😋 honoring your hunger and fullness cues most of the time while recognizing it's ok when you don't

🥨 honoring your cravings and doing your best to balance resources with food (such as money, recovery needs and cultural traditions)

❌ not thinking about food in black and white or having strict food rules

🧘‍♀️ moving your body in a way that feels right for you without "making up for" what you ate or feeling obligated to exercise

⚡️ having enough energy to do what is needed throughout the day

Do you know how to regulate and ground your body?

If not, no worries! Here are a few suggestions:
🫁 breathwork
🎧 listening to music or other audio
🌺 aromatherapy

There are many options and it will take some time to figure out which strategies work best for you.

Don't forget that part of healing is allowing yourself to feel the difficult emotions so you can plan how to manage your triggers. 💜

Save this as a reminder for later! 😊

Eating disorder healing needs to take a big-picture approach that includes loved ones, different types of movement and trauma work in addition to the care from therapists and dietitians.

Eating disorders do not discriminate, even though allocation of resources and privilege do.

Social justice and intersectionality both play a role in EDs and how they affect marginalized communities.

Access to food and other resources, trauma, and research study subjects are just a few examples of how different communities are impacted.
