We’re sooo grateful to you & the outpouring of support we received from yesterday’s announcement 💙
Cafe at 407 started as a way to help fund the mission of our nonprofit, .inc – bolstering additional fundraising dollars to help sustain core mission services of providing support and resources to individuals and families impacted by eating disorders
The hard truth is that operating a restaurant that’s not only able to financially support itself, but to also help fund an additional organization, is a really heavy lift. It has become unsustainable for our small team to manage, while simultaneously trying to grow the impact of our mission-centric services
While extremely bittersweet, we know in our hearts that this shift will ensure our team is able to be fully and completely committed to our core mission in the long term
We hold space for any and all feelings that come up for our community around this– and we feel them too. This decision is not one that was made lightly, but ultimately it feels like what’s best for our mission and our ability to serve you
We want to be VERY clear that Ophelia’s Place is still here and going to thrive! We’ll continue to provide support and fill the gaps in mental health services for individuals and families needing help. We know you might be wondering what is coming next for the space that the cafe currently occupies… We aren’t yet ready to share that yet, but we’re hoping to be able to share more very soon!
The cafe is going strong until Dec 31st! Come visit us, dine in, take out, stock up on holiday stocking stuffers from our retail area, and take some of our take-and-bakes home with you. Your patronage will continue to fuel our mission for 2024 and beyond.
Please know you have our eternal gratitude– for your patronage, your support, your smiles, your donations and the opportunity to serve you these past 12 years. This chapter may be closing but our book is still very much open!
