So long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye.
December 12 will be the last day The Sweet Spot storefront will be open. We have enjoyed serving you and making delicious and beautiful sweets for you and your special events.
I bought the bakery 2 ½ years ago, and I’m proud of how we have continued to build upon the great work of Karen and Darlene and serve the Lisle area. Yet change is the one constant we can count on.
As I have taken on a new and amazing role this year - being elected to the office of Mayor of Lisle - I’ve been monitoring how my time is divided between the bakery, the Village, my consulting work, and my home life. And at this point, I want to continue to grow my presence as mayor and spend more time with my kids. And the bakery must be where that time comes from.
I am happy though that as the sun sets on The Sweet Spot, it is rising just 5 minutes away at the new Allegretti's Bakery here in Lisle. For any of our regular customers, I highly recommend checking them out. And for those that get cakes from us – you may even see a familiar face and artistic flair there! Aubrey will be designing and decorating cakes and cookies at Allegretti’s, so you know you will get amazing work from them!
Thank you to the whole community that has supported us. And especially to my friends here in Lisle, thank you for coming and supporting me and our little shop. It means the world to me.
