The Moxie weekend is here, and we have some important updates about Saturday's detours to keep everyone informed and ensure a smooth and safe event.
Saturday Morning, July 13th:
🚧 Road Closures for Moxie 5K:
Hinkley Street and Frosthill Ave (between Hinkley and Rt 9 closed)
Rt 9 from Rt 196 to Upland Rd intersection is closed.
Wing Street and Scottsdale closed, Huston and Scottsdale closed, Higgins Street and Cross Street will be closed: These are closed to keep our runners safe in Huston Park and also Rt 9 from 7am to approximately 8:30-9am.
Moxie Parade: Saturday, July 13th
🎉 The parade starts at 10am (Roads close at 9:45am), with the following road closures:
Rt 196: From Frosthill Ave by the Sabattus River Bridge/Walking path area east on Rt 196 to Summer Street is closed and barricaded off.
Topsham Traffic heading west on Rt 196 will detour up Summer Street, and Lewiston traffic heading east on Rt 196 will be detoured up Frosthill Avenue.
Bridge to Durham (Rt 125): Closed at 9:45am sharp, no access to or from Durham.
Parade Route: (PLEASE SEE YELLOW LINES on MAP BELOW)
Starts at Capitol Avenue, turns right onto Rt 196, travels east to Main Street, then left onto Main Street, north up Main St to South Street, and ends in Huston Park.
🚗 Detours: (PLEASE See RED Roads on the map below for the Detour route)
Traffic from Topsham can still get to Lewiston and vice versa, thanks to a detour around the parade route.
All side roads connecting to Rt 196 along the parade route will also be closed at Rt 196. Roads are expected to reopen by approximately 12:00 noon.
Also please be aware of the following road closures around MTM Center on School Street during the day Saturday:
-Closure of School Street from Main Street to Vining Street from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 (Festival Activities).
-Closure of Addison Street to South Street from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 (Festival Activities).
-Closure of Campus Avenue from 6:00 am to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024.(Festival Activities)
-Closure of Berry Avenue bordering MTM Park from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024 (Festival Activities
