Yesterday I had the biggest honor of creating a cake for my oldest daughter's baby shower. MY GRANDDAUGHTER! As I was designing and planning their baby shower cake, I wanted something that would appeal to them both. The baby announcement they used, back in August, was bee themed, and they are both excellent hunters. I came up with this. The top tier was a lemon cake with raspberry curd filling the bottom cake was lavender with blackberry curd. The cake is iced all in buttercream icing and then hand painted to look like Birchwood. On top the yellow roses, pinecones, pine branches and tan bunny tails are all made with buttercream, as well. The little bees and the honeycomb, seen in the cut section of cake, are made with fondant, and the butterflies are made with gelatin then hand painted. If you look closely you will even see "honey" dripping from the honeycomb. Along with the cake I made little fruit tarts, and cherry brie bites.

Today I did some playing around with an order. This is a strawberry rhubarb pie with a twisted lattice work top crust and a single rose made with the extra crust pieces.

Here's a fun little birthday cake. This is a white chocolate cake with a raspberry wine curd for the filling. The cake is topped with fresh raspberries and a drizzle of white chocolate. Raspberry wine can be found at Smoky Hill Vineyard & Winery.

This Friday, December 16th from 5p-8p, is an event you should not miss out on. Smoky Hill Vineyards & Winery will be hosting an open house at their facility at 2771 Centennial Rd in Salina. This cake was created for a very special individual coming very soon. The elephants on top are ceramic for a nice keepsake for momma to be. The rest of the cake is iced in buttercream icing with fondant decorations.

It was a very big weekend here. Here are 3 weddings I had for Nov. 12th. All cakes and cupcakes are iced in buttercream icing. The white roses on this 1st cake are hand made roses made out of fondant. All flowers were arranged by Milkweeds floral designs.
