We may spend most of our nights making coffee for you, but last Saturday we decided our staff deserved some coffee and pizza of our own.

With full plates and plenty of laughs, we dove into a latte art master class and learned that there is a very fine line between a beautiful tulip and something that looks like it belongs in an abstract art exhibit.

Some of us made beautiful designs. Some made something that was technically coffee art. And a few created pieces that may require a little explanation.

Either way, we had a great night laughing, learning, and spending time together outside the shop. We are pretty proud of our team, even if our latte art is still somewhere between professional and modern art museum.

Come see what our newly educated baristas can pour for you. Just don't ask us to recreate the swan.

At this point, we’re pretty sure coffee isn’t a drink anymore. It’s a personality trait.

One cup to get moving. One while catching up with a friend. One because you ran into someone you haven’t seen in forever. And maybe one more because, well, you’re already downtown.

That’s the funny thing about small-town life. The days are busy, but somehow there’s always time to slow down for a cup of coffee, sit for a few minutes, and catch up with someone you know.

So whether you’re on cup one, cup three, or you’ve lost count altogether, we’ll have the coffee ready.

Some days call for a hot cup of coffee and a little time to slow down.

Maybe you’re an Americano person, with espresso and hot water. Maybe a hot latte is more your speed, with espresso and steamed milk. Or maybe you like to keep it classic with a fresh cup of brewed coffee.

Whatever you’re in the mood for, you can make it your own with your favorite flavor and choice of dairy.

There’s no wrong answer around here. Just a warm cup, good coffee, and a little time to slow down.

This might be the best weekend of the summer in Lincoln.

Balloons Over 66, the Railsplitter Festival at Postville Courthouse, the BBQ competition downtown... there is A LOT going on.

Yes, downtown will be packed. Yes, parking might take a little patience. But don’t let that keep you away. We put together a map showing some of the parking options around downtown. And honestly, the walk to Guest House is probably no worse than parking at Walmart and walking to the back of the store. Minus the squeaky cart wheel.

We’ll have coffee, pastries and Açaí Bowls to keep you going between all the fun.

Come downtown, support these great events and make Guest House one of your stops along the way. This is one of those weekends you don’t want to miss.
