Mettle fans, with Zipline Copper Alt no longer available, we had to work fast to find the right beer for our homemade fish batter.
After testing numerous beers, we found one that we think might be better than Copper Alt.
The most important criteria for the beer we selected was it had to be a unique local Nebraska beer.
When we posted a few weeks ago that we needed ideas for a new beer for our fish batter, one brewery owner traveled from La Vista, Nebraska to meet with us and shared several samples of beer from her brewery that might work well. I thought this was awesome and it turns out, one of those samples worked amazingly well!
The new beer that we use in the fish batter for our fish and chips is Pint Nine Brewing Company's Session Red Ale. This beer works incredibly well with our recipe and I want to sincerely thank Lea Watson for traveling from Pint Nine in La Vista, Nebraska to help us out!
