Have you ever thought about bringing in a private chef to your party or your own table to serve Pho? I was born in Vietnam and come to the United States about 10 years ago. I have worked in different food places from Chinese Express in Hy-Vee, Mongolian Grill, Beacon Hill, and to Omaha Country Club. As working, I have learned how to cook, how to serve different customers, and understand how food is the best channel to connect cultures. I would love to bring my own Pho’s Experience to your kitchen. Every day I dream of being an entrepreneur to open my own restaurant to serve my own food. 2 years ago, in 2020 I opened my first restaurant ever. It is called Phinway Cafe. Unfortunately, 20 days after I signed my contract, COVID 19 started to be recognized and spread throughout the world. I struggled finding supplies since everything was closed and the wholesale company did not want to meet with new customers. They want safety for their employees, and I understand it. My Grand Opening was a weird one, no line, no excitement. There were some people who showed up with masks on their face. My restaurant was able to open for two years, we built a lovely team, we built trust with our routine customers, we built our reputation, but we did not have enough traffic to be able to survive. Finally, I decided to close it. I have nothing to lose anymore. As today, I couldn’t have a restaurant to serve anymore but it won’t stop me from being creative in the food industry. While saving and waiting for my opportunity to come. I would like to come out and serve my best cooking dish, Pho, to the community. In my childhood, Pho was fancy to my family. Even though Pho have been selling everywhere but we never have extra money to spend for Pho. Maybe as a kid, I would be sick then my mom would buy me a bowl of Pho and hope I feel better. I know she loves me, so some time when I want Pho so bad, I even fake to be sick so I can demand a bowl pho from my mom. I still remember every time I ate Pho, I never wasted any last drop. I would save all the extra broth and add it to my next meal. 😊
