The Annual Holy Smoke BBQ Contest takes place every year in late summer on the grounds of St. Proceeds from the contest go to the non-profit St. The Do-Dad's are Fathers, Family and Friends coming together to help serve the needs of the St. James parish and school. We do so by offering our time, talent, and treasure to raise funds and perform various improvement projects for the St. James communit
y. There will be up to 40 professional teams competing for $3,000 in prize money in this KCBS sanctioned event in the 4 meat categories: Brisket, Chicken, Ribs, and Pork. There will be live music, a Kidz Zone, and Beer Garden, along with various vendors from all over the KC metro area.
