The first Macado’s restaurant was opened in 1978 by Richard Macher in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. It soon became popular for its eclectic ambiance of cartoon, antique, and local nostalgic decor, as well as its wide array of hearty yet modestly-priced sandwiches, subs, and entrees. Popular with the college crowd, the restaurant opened additional locations near Virginia Tech, Radford University, and Roanoke College. Locations were added at the rate of one or two per year, including those in neighboring West Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee. Macado’s just recently opened its newest location in Winchester, Virginia. The already-lengthy menu has been changed and expanded over the years, and several events have grown in popularity, such as the Macado’s Annual St. Loyal customers have made Macado’s part of their own traditions as well!

Attention City of Lexington, we are happy and proud to announce your favorite late-night spot is back seven days a week. Starting Monday March 13th our hours will be Sunday – Thursday 9am - 11pm, Friday and Saturday 9am – 12am. I know it has been a long time coming. We as Macado’s, cannot thank you all enough for the continuous support and patients through all the hard and weird times. Just in time for the best holiday of the year, St. Patricks’ Day. Come out and see us for some great festive food, and cheerful drinks.
