🔥 WHAT A WEEKEND OF BBQ! 🔥
We had a weekend that was nothing but BBQ! Three days of cooking, competing, hanging out with our BBQ family, and supporting our community.
This was a CBA-sanctioned Double Header competition, and it was stacked with some heavy-hitting Pro teams from all over.
Going into this weekend, we had two goals:
#1: Of course, to help support our community and the Giddings Fire Department.
#2: To see how well Butcher Life BBQ could stack up against some of the best cooks around.
Competition 1 Friday and Saturday
13th — Cooks Choice
5th — Beans
9th — Chicken
19th — Ribs
22nd — Brisket
18th Place Overall
Competition 2 Sunday
19th — Chicken
9th — Ribs
18th — Pork
18th — Brisket
20th Place Overall
We finished the weekend with 2 total walks, and we were definitely happy with the way we cooked. We also know exactly where we could have done better, and that’s what this BBQ game is all about learning, improving, and coming back stronger.
A HUGE thank you to Dustin Martinez with Asleep At The Grill for coming in clutch and helping Butcher Life BBQ. After the first competition we were wore OUT 😂 and we definitely appreciate you jumping in and helping us get through another day!
This was officially Butcher Life BBQ’s last cookoff of the 2026 season as deer season is upon us. We’re already looking forward to the 2027 season and can’t wait to get back to doing what we love!
I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Butcher Life BBQ throughout the 2026 season. From our friends and family who have helped us at cookoffs, hauled equipment, cooked, cleaned, cheered us on, shared our posts, and simply believed in us we couldn’t do this without y’all.

Thank you to my father in law, Kenny for allowing us to use his camper for a couple of cookoffs this year. We had some EXTREMELY hot weekends, and having that AC and shelter was definitely a must to keep our team safe and give us somewhere to cool down and recharge. We truly appreciate you letting us use it!

2026 was one hell of a ride, and we’re proud of what we accomplished.
Now it’s time to put the pits away, and get ready for deer season with Hunters Creek Processing.
