One Last Lunch
In the heart of Lewisville, Texas, four brothers in blue—Andy, Nick, Russ, and John—spent years serving side by side. Through wild calls, quiet nights, and everything in between, they formed a bond stronger than any badge could represent. When retirement came, they traded patrol cars for pickup trucks, radios for ringing laughter, and crime scenes for peaceful meals with old friends.
Their favorite spot became 206 Luster Grill—a place where the staff welcomed them like family, and the food always came with a side of respect. It was there, in a sunlit table near the window, that the four friends shared stories, memories, and the kind of laughter only seasoned officers could understand.
That last lunch together was special. Russ, though battling illness, insisted on joining his brothers for a meal.
Not long after, Russ passed.
The next time Andy, Nick, and John returned to 206 Luster Grill, their table felt quieter—but not empty. They brought with them a gift: a hat embroidered with American Flag thin blue line edition, signed with their names, they wrote "with sincere appreciation for your hospitality! To our friends at 206 Luster Grill", Retired Veteran Officer, and Duty/Honor/Service/Retired Officer. It was a tribute not just to their careers, friendships, but to their friend Russ, who now watched over them from beyond.
They gave the hat to the restaurant staff, a thank-you to those who served them so well, and a gesture of remembrance. That hat now rests on the counter, a silent salute to a lifelong friendship, a career of service, and a final lunch no one will ever forget.
In Lewisville, TX, the legends wear badges—and live on in every story told over a warm meal, at a place called 206 Luster Grill.
Rest In Peace, Russ C.
