WOW… what a Goose Day! 🪿

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

This year, we served over 700 goose dinners. We truly cannot put into words how much it means to us that so many of you continue to make Sal-Lee’s part of your Goose Day tradition.

Goose Day is a lot of work behind the scenes. Days of preparation, early mornings, a very busy kitchen, and a whole lot of teamwork go into putting those dinners on your tables. But seeing a dining room full of familiar faces, families coming in together, and customers we’ve been serving for years, it makes every bit of it worthwhile.

This year was made even more special when The Sentinel featured our very own Leroy Peachey on the front page. At 87 years young, Lee is still right here with us on the daily with is knife in hand, helping prepare the goose just as he has for decades. We couldn’t be more proud or grateful that we still get to share these days with him. ❤️

We also owe a HUGE thank you to our incredible staff. Goose Day takes every single person working together, from preparing and cooking to serving, cleaning, answering phones and everything in between. You guys knocked it out of the park.

And to our customers—whether this was your first Goose Day with us or you’ve been coming to Sal-Lee’s for longer than we can count—thank you for keeping this tradition alive.

‼️ Please, please, please, have patience with our crew as we navigate the craziest day of the year! We have all worked countless hours to ensure a smooth day. Our phone line will be flooded making it impossible to take orders. Please come and order in person!

Yes, folks, it’s that time of year again. Goose Day, a Mifflin County tradition, is right around the corner! Leroy Peachey, owner, has been providing our county with his “lucky” goose dinners for over 36 years! Come be a part of our most favorite tradition!

*We will be utilizing our take out window for fast and convenient service. Pre-ordering is highly recommended! 😊

🇺🇸 WELCOME HOME, PRIVATE SELLERS! 🇺🇸

We want to take a moment to recognize and congratulate one of our very own, Private Michael J. Sellers, on successfully completing U.S. Army Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Lee, Virginia!

Michael is now a proud member of the United States Army Reserve, serving as a 92F – Petroleum Supply Specialist.

For those who don't know Michael's story, he has been part of the Sal-Lee’s family since 2020, when he started with us as a quiet young dishwasher. Over the years, we have watched him grow, take on new responsibilities, and work his way up to becoming one of our Lead Line Cooks.

Watching him grow from that quiet kid in the dish room into the hardworking, confident young man he is today has been such a privilege. And now, we get to add United States Army soldier to his list of accomplishments!

Michael, we are incredibly proud of the man you have become and everything you have accomplished. Your hard work, determination, and dedication have brought you a long way, and we know this is only the beginning of what you are capable of.

From all of us at Sal-Lee’s, congratulations and welcome home, Private Sellers! We are so proud to call you one of our own! 🇺🇸❤️
