🚨 PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUESTED 🚨

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual involved in a burglary at Los Girasoles in Lewistown, Missouri.

During the early morning hours of September 4, 2026, at approximately 12:30 a.m., an individual entered the restaurant and stole an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Surveillance footage shows at least one Black male inside the restaurant during the incident. Another male suspect is seen on video footage as well.

Anyone who recognizes the individual, has information regarding the burglary, or observed anything suspicious in the area during that time is asked to contact the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. You can report on our website or app at www.lewiscosheriff.org/crime-tip

With heavy hearts, we want to let our customers and community know that our restaurant was broken into overnight. Because of the damage and everything we need to take care of today, Los Girasoles will be CLOSED Friday, September 4th & until further notice.

For our family, Los Girasoles is so much more than a restaurant. It’s something we’ve poured our hearts, time, and countless hours into building. It’s a place where we’ve celebrated with you, shared meals with you, and watched so many of you become like family to us. ❤️

Today is definitely a tough one. But we are choosing to be grateful—for our safety, for the people who continue to stand behind us, and for this community that has supported our family-owned business through so much.

We’re going to take today to handle what needs to be handled and get everything back in order. We hope to see you all again very soon. 🌻
