Happy Day Catering
Mystic Cafe Happy Day Restaurants was founded by Bruce and Joy Finch in 1969 to bring the freshest flavors and most dynamic guest experiences in the region to our local communities. Since the initial founding of Lewiston’s Taco Time
, Happy Day has grown to include 13 quick- and full-serve restaurants in Lewiston, ID, Clarkston, WA, and Moscow, ID, as well as catering & event production around the Inland Northwest. Happy Day holds tight to Bruce’s vision of high-quality products, exceptional service, and beautiful restaurants where our guests are comfortable gathering again and again. This dedication to excellence is recognized within our community as well as on the national level: Happy Day Restaurants was inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame in 2016, and several of our Taco Time and Arby’s locations have won national distinction from their parent companies. This legacy is continued today by the hands-on leadership of Bruce’s son Tobe, Happy Day’s current president, and we are committed to refining our processes to meet the high standards set at our founding as we continue to grow. Our mission statement encapsulates our drive for quality in all aspects of the business:
- To provide the freshest products and most enthusiastic service to our communities in pursuit of dynamic guest experiences while creating a strong culture of employee leadership development to produce personal and professional growth. Every employee will do their best to provide great food and world-class experiences for our customers while we train you to become leaders in your careers and personal lives. Adhering to these core values makes the best experience for ourselves, our coworkers, and our customers so we can continue to serve the Valley and the Palouse into the future:
- Creating exemplary customer experiences
o We are professional, enthusiastic, and problem solving. We go above and beyond to raise the standards and offer the best customer service in the industry during every guest interaction.
- Quality before speed
o While speed of service is vital, our priority is always accuracy, freshness, and product quality.
- Workplace and personal safety
o We are vigilant to maintain the health and safety of our guests, facilities, and employees at all times by strictly following health guidelines and promptly fixing problems as they arise.
- Systems, accountability, and follow-up
o Train what you want to see, and you will see it. Systems work best by checking in, getting feedback, and constantly refining processes. We find opportunities for improvement and follow up on the results.
- Humor and creativity
o Our culture is lighthearted and dynamic. Big ideas can come from any employee—we welcome input and change for the better in a constructive and collaborative environment.
- We, not I
o We are a unified front, facing problems as a team. We care for one another and provide a safe place to explore new ideas, refine our work, and learn to be our best selves. Our individual contributions make the workplace experience better for everyone.
- Positive employee interactions
o We foster a culture of respect by avoiding gossip, rumors, and rudeness. We use our words to build each other up and address concerns promptly through the appropriate channels.
- Developing leadership and preparing you for more
o From dishwasher to general manager, each person is called to be a leader. Because your development as a person extends beyond the walls of your place of employment, we seek to help you learn professional and personal skills that will serve you well into the future, regardless if that future is with Happy Day Restaurants.
- Employee balance
o We want your family to be your first priority. We value the whole employee and seek to be flexible as you manage your family, school, and health needs.
- Community involvement
o We exist because of the support of our local communities, so we prioritize giving back by sponsoring dozens of school- and community-based projects and non-profits. Major Sponsor:
