🍦 Ice Cream Truck Trivia Time! 🚚🎶

Did you know the very first ice cream truck actually started as an ice cream wagon pulled by horses in the early 1900s? Before the familiar jingles and colorful trucks, vendors would ride through neighborhoods selling frozen treats from insulated carts packed with ice.

And that famous ice cream truck song everyone recognizes? One of the most well-known tunes, “Turkey in the Straw,” has been used for decades to let kids know sweet treats were on the way!

Fun fact: The modern ice cream truck really took off in the 1950s when neighborhoods were booming and summer afternoons meant kids playing outside until the streetlights came on.

Spring is here, and that means the Green Machine Ice Cream Truck is getting ready to hit the streets again! This year marks our 11th season serving the LC Valley and Lapwai, and our little family-owned business cannot wait to bring smiles, music, and delicious frozen treats back to the community.

Nothing says warmer weather like hearing the ice cream truck coming down the street. Kids running, adults pretending they are “just supervising,” and everyone picking out their favorite treat. We love being part of those moments every year. 🍨

🍦 Surprise! We decided we’re up for one more ice cream adventure in Lapwai. Tomorrow (Wednesday September 17th) we’ll be rolling through the streets starting around 5pm with the very last of our ice cream supply. The Green Machine Ice Cream Truck 🛻 is rolling out for its final Lapwai round of the season tomorrow!

We’ll be hitting the streets around 5pm (Wednesday), so keep an ear out for that music and come grab your favorite treat.

This marks the end of our 10th year serving up ice cream in Lapwai, and we couldn’t have done it without all of you. Thank you for letting us be a sweet part of your summers! 💚

🎉 Hey Lapwai! 🎉

This Wednesday, September 3, the Green Machine Ice Cream Truck 🛻 will be rolling through town with something extra special! Not only will we be serving up your favorite ice cream treats, but we’ll also be giving away FREE BACKPACKS 🎒to elementary-aged kiddos!

👉🏼 Limit one backpack per child, and kiddos must be present to receive one. Supplies are limited, so be sure to listen for that truck jingle!

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to wish Anna (owner) a very Happy Birthday 🥳. Do you know how old she’ll be?? Put your guess in the comments!
