Founded by Donald & Harriet Reeser in the Summer of 1969 this local favorite has grown through the decades. It struggled in the 1970s and only through the tireless efforts of Mr. & Mrs. Reeser did it continue to hang on until the business began to thrive in the early 1980s. (the current proprietor) began working with the company in 1985 and took over daily operations in 1991. In the intervening years Reeser's Ice Cream has grown into a local hotspot in the Spring and Summer drawing large crowds whenever it is open.

Don't forget that tomorrow (Tuesday) we'll be hanging out with the folks from Faith Assembly for their weekly community meal at the Fairview Fire Hall in New Cumberland. This week looks like it'll be another amazing meal including pork chops, stuffing, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, green beans and cole slaw. Many thanks to the folks at The Restaurant Store in Camp Hill for discounting this week's donation from the ice cream shop's of equipment, paper, spices and other supplies to Faith Assembly.
Food hits the plates at 6 PM. Always good, always free.
Room at the table for everyone.

Had an AMAZING time on Saturday pitching in with the staff, board and volunteers at the inaugural Red Land Senior Center's Fall Fest. I was deeply impressed at the organization, zeal and overall vibe of the event. We couldn't have asked for better weather for this amazing festival. The list of local businesses, organizations and individuals that donated money, supplies or their time is long and impressive.
Let's not forget that, even after the Fall Festival is over, we have the opportunity to donate time, funds and supplies to this amazing organization right here in our little town that helps local seniors.
Give what you can, when you can.

Big happenings Saturday in downtown Lewisberry. The Red Land Senior Center will be holding their inaugural Fall Fest at 501 Market Street (near the ball fields on the north end of town). Lots to do including live music from Penny Lane (Beatles tribute band), demonstrations, vendors, a pumpkin rolling contest, exhibits, displays, plenty of great food, a silent auction and 50/50 drawings. Don will be on site slinging hot dogs with the rest of the volunteers.
Stop out and help this awesome organization that does so much for our seniors!

Checking out Food Trucks in New Cumberland.
Edit: I had a really, really good time. I broke my prohibition against eating anything fried and had a burger w/ french fries from The Lucky Penny Burger Company. They, in addition to Mad Dash Concessions, are my two favorite food trucks. I had the Lucky Penny Burger which was absolutely delicious and a side of their fries which were hot, crispy and perfectly seasoned.
The event also had live music, the weather was perfect and I bumped into a couple of regular customers from the ice cream shop.
Really a 10/10 event.

Don’t forget that Saturday the Red Land Senior Center will be holding their inaugural Fall Fest from 11 AM till 4 PM in downtown Lewisberry. The weather looks perfect and there are a ton of things going on. Food, live music, demonstrations, a pumpkin rolling contest and plenty of opportunities to find out what the senior center does for folks right here in Lewisberry. I’ll be hanging out helping in the kitchen throughout the day. Stop in, grab something to eat and help out this worthwhile cause.

Another really good meal community tonight with Faith Assembly at the Fairview Fire Hall in New Cumberland. Rigatoni with a zesty red sauce chock full of lean ground beef, grilled onions, fresh mozzarella, Parmesan and ricotta cheese. Just the right mix of spices then simmered and topped with more shredded fresh mozzarella. Finished it off with breadsticks, Italian green beans and green salad.
Don’t forget that Faith Assembly has been providing these free meals to the community for almost 5 years. We’ll be back at it again next Tuesday at 6 PM, menu to be announced.
