🥛 June is Dairy Month!

Long before Hopkins Farm Creamery existed, this was Green Acres Farm.

At its peak, 550 Holstein cows were milked here three times a day, 365 days a year.

While the dairy cows are no longer here, our respect for dairy farmers has never changed.

To the farmers still milking before sunrise, working weekends, holidays, and long days to feed their communities:

We see you.
We appreciate you. 🙌
And we’ll always be grateful for the industry that made places like Hopkins Farm Creamery possible.

Because without dairy cows, there is no milk.
And without milk, there is no ice cream. 🍦🐄

📍 Lewes Update!

We have received SO many messages asking for updates, so here we go!

Behind the scenes, owner Michael Hopkins has been working on this project every single day. From permits and inspections to renovations, to weekly planning meetings, there has been a lot happening to bring this location to life.

And trust us when we say… we’re just as excited as you are.

Not only will this location bring Hopkins a little closer to home for many of our customers, but we’re also working on some location-specific surprises including new merch and exclusive treats that will only be available in Downtown Lewes.

As Michael has said:
“Our community is growing and we want to grow along with it.”

We’re currently shooting for the second weekend in June, and we’ll share official dates as soon as everything is finalized.

One thing we LOVE about this location is that it’s just off the Georgetown-Lewes Trail, meaning you won’t have to take the kiddos on a main road to come see us. 🚴🍦

This place is changing.

The roads are busier. New neighborhoods seem to pop up every day. Thousands of people have moved to Sussex County in just the last few years.

We’ve noticed something else too.
More and more people have no idea what places like Hopkins Farm Creamery actually are.

We’re not a big box store with thousands of employees. We’re a family business that started on this farm and has been serving this community since 2008 🙌

The people scooping your ice cream are local kids. The people running this place are your neighbors.
The farm behind it all is still very real.

The reason so many people want to move here is because this area has always been different.

🌾 The reason you wanted to move here is the exact thing you’re helping destroy if you don’t respect it.

Over the next few weeks, we’d like to share more about the history of the Creamery, the farm, the people who built it, and how this area has changed over the years.

🇺🇸 The forecast may be calling for rain, but that isn’t going to get our crew down this Memorial Day weekend 🍦

As we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, we’d also like to extend our appreciation to the Veterans and Active Military members in our community.

As a small thank you, Veterans and Active Military members will receive 10% off their order from today to Monday.

We know the forecast isn't exactly screaming beach weather, but you can never go wrong with homemade ice cream, milkshakes, and time spent with family 🙌
