What an absolutely STELLAR week we had last week with our Dollar Chicken Cutlets! The response from our community was incredible, and we cannot thank our customers, old friends and all of our new friends, enough for the tremendous support.

WOW… what an incredible week at Blue Monkey Catering!

To every single person who came out, stood in line, picked up an order, told a friend, shared our post, and supported our $1 Chicken Cutlet Special — THANK YOU!

We were absolutely amazed by the response. Thousands of chicken cutlets went out our doors, and we are truly humbled and flattered by all of the wonderful comments, messages, and feedback we received.

A Chef Never Stops Learning — New Orleans 2026 ⚜️👨‍🍳

Being a chef is so much more than standing behind a stove. Being a chef means never stopping learning.

I just returned from an incredible culinary journey through New Orleans, Louisiana — one of the greatest food cities in the world. And yes, we ate. We drank. We walked Bourbon Street. We laughed. We met some incredible people. But most importantly, we learned.

From Cajun to Creole, from legendary restaurants to neighborhood joints, every plate told a story. We ate alligator, turtle soup, boudin, po’boys, gumbo, étouffée, dirty rice, poutine, chitlins, oysters, crawfish — you name it, we probably tried it! And there may have been a few cocktails involved along the way. 😂🥃

But that is what chefs do.

We travel.
We taste.
We ask questions.
We talk to other chefs, bartenders, servers and hospitality professionals.
We learn the history behind the food.
And then we bring those experiences home and make ourselves better.

New Orleans reminded me that food isn’t just something we put on a plate. Food is history. Food is culture. Food is family. Food brings people together.

After all these years in this crazy business, I can still walk into a kitchen, taste something I’ve never tasted before and think, “Damn… I need to learn how to make that.”

That’s why I still love being a chef.

Thank you, New Orleans, for the food, the drinks, the hospitality, the education, the memories — and maybe a few extra pounds!

Now it’s time to bring a little of that Cajun and Creole soul back home to Blue Monkey Catering.

A chef who stops learning stops growing. And I’m nowhere near finished learning.
