There wasn't a single Friday night that my siblings and I didn't spend at Blockbuster, fighting over who would be able to choose a movie. Blockbuster will always remind me of the start of school & fall, so let's all ease into the season together!

Starting Friday, 8/28, in honor of our favorite legend passing, we will be serving up drink for our country queen & donating proceeds to her Imagination Library.

From what I've been hearing around the shop, I think most of us have a story about Dolly Parton and how she has positively affected our lives, either with her music or with her philanthropic work. She was a fantastic example of being yourself, giving back in order to raise up the community, taking & creating opportunities- all with a smile & with some glitter ✨

Last week, I had the privilege of becoming a Specialty Coffee Association certified Coffee Technician! As someone who loves to problem solve and figure out how my equipment works, this truly was such a great class and I learned so much about electrical, hydraulics and water preventive maintenance. Sounds like niche interests, but if I could have spent months learning even more about all of this, I absolutely would!

Getting the experience to train & learn from the best in the industry, Marty Workbench Coffee Labs, was such an honor. He is one of the best teachers I have ever learned from and I walked away feeling so much more confident in working with my equipment. There is such a lack of technicians out in the field, especially women techs, so if you’re looking for a career in coffee- this is the place to go!

For all my coffee shop owner friends, hit me up if you need some help with your equipment issues! I took this to not only be a better cafe owner & support system for my staff, but to make sure I’m around to help my coffee community, too.
