Bamboo Penny's Bamboo Penny's is an authentic Thai restaurant in Leawood, Kansas!

The Bamboo Room, a Polynesian-inspired rooftop venue located on the upper level of Bamboo Penny's, is now open and serves beautifully handcrafted cocktails and exclusive small bites. Complete with private elevator service and a retractable rooftop, the bar is open year-round for guests to enjoy happy hour, private events, and late-night entertainment year round. The Bamboo Room is open on Thursdays from 4pm to 11pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to midnight (or later), and on Sundays from 11am to 9pm.

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the unfortunate news that we had to say goodbye to our beloved manager, Jed Ellison. 🕊️

Jed played such an important role in helping build Bamboo Penny’s into what it is today. He brought color, life, laughter, and so much personality to every event, project, and room he walked into. More than a manager, Jed was part of the Bamboo Penny’s family, and his presence will be deeply missed by our team and so many in our community.

If Jed touched your life during his years with us, we are considering holding a small Celebration of Life at Bamboo Penny’s to gather, share stories, laugh, remember, and celebrate the person he was. Please let us know if you would like to join us.

In the coming days, we also ask that you give our Bamboo Penny’s staff a little extra love and grace as they grieve the loss of someone who meant so much to them.

Rest peacefully, Jed. Thank you for the laughter, the memories, and everything you gave to Bamboo Penny’s. You will be deeply missed. 🤍
