We received notice:
That Duke Electric will be working on the electric Sat July 11 at 10pm, next to the Legion, so we are closing at 9pm Saturday. We will hold the Sunken Treasure drawing at 8pm, this Saturday.

It's been brought to my attention, that Friday night a few people didn't follow the Post Rules.
You CANNOT carry alcohol in or carry it out.
You enter the courtyard through the building, not by sneaking around the fence. You will be told to leave, and possibly not allowed back in. If you are caught giving alcohol to a minor, you and the minor will be told to leave and not allowed back for the remainder of the year.
As far as fireworks, there will be NO fireworks, boomers or whatever you want to call them, set off, used, etc on Legion property. The incident on Friday night could have seriously injured someone. Veterans served to make this possible. RESPECT THE LEGION, IT'S MEMBERS AND STAFF. Remember, this is a Veteran's Club! If you're not a member, you're a guest, act accordingly.

Alcohol is NOT an excuse!!

As everyone is preparing for this holiday weekend, let's take a minute to honor our Veterans. Some of our heroes have endured more than most human beings can even imagine. Loud noises & booms are a real trigger to some of the scariest times of their lives, protecting our freedom. Understood that fireworks are a part of the celebration, but at the end of the show, maybe have a little respect for the residents, animals & our war heroes. May you all have a safe & blessed holiday weekend. ✝️ 🇺🇸

Found this interesting tidbit.

"On July 4, nearly 200 American Legion Riders will assemble in downtown Pittsburgh as the sun rises on the United States’ semiquincentennial. As part of Sojourn 250, they will provide an es**rt for an American flag that will have traveled 26 countries, flying over the graves and memorials of U.S. heroes buried in cemeteries under the American Battle Monuments Commission’s care. The final leg of that international tour begins at the national headquarters of the National Flag Foundation in Pittsburgh and will end in the nation’s capital."
