The local branch of the NAACP will host an annual parade and festival Saturday evening in downtown Leavenworth in celebration of Juneteenth.

Saturday, June 13 is the Juneteenth Twilight Parade and Festival in the City of Leavenworth, sponsored by the Leavenworth Branch Unit 4036 of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People or NAACP. The parade route is through downtown Leavenworth and will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday June 13 at the parking lot of Leavenworth City Hall, 100 N. Fifth Street. The Leavenworth Police Department will begin closing streets along Fifth Street at 5 p.m. The route will move south on Fifth Street, west on Delaware Street to Seventh Street, then south on Seventh Street to Haymarket Square. The parade ends at Haymarket Square, 7th and Cherokee streets.
