Valerio Valentini and Alisha Hawkins officially no longer operate The Yankee’s Place. After Val’s stroke, his health no longer allows him to be able to safely operate in a commercial kitchen. We loved running the place together, but without Val, it just doesn’t feel the same to do it on my own.

However, we have leased it to close family friends that recently moved to Leakey to take the reins and have gladly and enthusiastically leased it from us. They are a young, ambitious couple who have dreamed of owning and running a pizzeria! Their love and passion for pizza coupled with their long time desire to live in Leakey have culminated into a reality and we’re so happy and proud of them!

You’ll see a lot of recipes are unchanged while making some additions of their own. They are stepping into a big dream, and we both hope you’ll continue to show them your support and encouragement that we received when we opened.

On a personal note, Val and I want to genuinely thank our amazing employees that truly helped us to be successful. We were blessed to have some amazing employees that became family. We loved meeting so many new faces and enjoyed visiting with our regular customers as much as we could. It’s hard to hand over the reigns on what we loved, but we both know they love it as much as we do.

This chapter has closed, but when one door closes, God opens a new door. Val is getting better every day and making good progress. Alisha has moved back into the nursing world, a passion that’s never faded. As the next chapter is being written, we will always has beautiful memories of the Yankee’s Place and want to thank you for being part of it.

Best wishes to the new operators and we hope you have the same fun, joy and success we had in the place. Please continue to support them as they begin to write their new chapter as well.

We make our own dough daily. We don’t roll your crust until you order it. Each pizza is created from scratch and baked in our Blodgett pizza oven then cut and served piping hot to your table. If you want it fresh, hot and delicious, you come here. If you want pre-made, previously frozen pizza from a treadmill, you have other options. The Yankee’s Place
