As of today, we celebrate two years of being a small business in Le Roy, NY!!!
IT'S OUR TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!
We want to express our highest gratitude of respect that we have for every single person who walks into our door as we value you as a customer in more ways than you'll ever know.
When you support a small business in a small town...
•You're supporting a staff members weekly paycheck so they can continue to have a job.
•You're supporting daily & weekly supply purchases so we can continue to have eveything we need to fulfill your orders & catering needs.
•You're supporting the mortgage on the building, the utilities, & all the other payments that pop up....especially when unexpected.
•You're supporting all the ways we are able to donate and give back to the community throughout the year.
•You're supporting the never ending funds of always needing to fix something be it the building itself or a piece of equipment.
•Finally, you're supporting a real family in your small town area with five kids (ages 7-19) as we are trying to make a living on our own just like all of you with your own jobs to support yourself and/or your own families.
A little back story on how we got to this point if you don't personally know us yet.
What started with our side hussel pickle business, The Happy Pickle NY , has helped us build all we are in charge of operating daily today. We use to do farmers markets in 2020 sitting on coolers and selling pickles out of the back of our truck. We were always chasing the next big move, what could we do next to get to that higher level? How can we grow? How can we expand?
We spent years focusing on doing every market we could before we started figuring out how to get our pickles into retail locations from Syracuse to Rochester to Buffalo.
Then 2024 came around and all of a sudden eveything just kind of happened all at once! (People thought we were crazy & doing too much. One should never underestimate the work horse of a man Shawn Timmerman became)
February 2024 we purchased Zimmermann's Hot's, a staple breakfast sandwich, burger, hots, sausage stand at The Rochester Public Market. We are only the 3rd owners since 1952!
We saw an open main street spot that we knew would be the perfect size for a start up deli and we worked on creating that space to what we needed at that time. On August 19, 2024 we opened our doors to Henry's Deli!! 🖤
Within our first few months we knew we would fully outgrow that location and the opportunity to take over 24 Main St fell into our laps and we jumped on it!
Another big decision and a big undertaking as we created our first floor fixer upper project to bring this historic building back to life. We both knew we wanted to keep our 1800's building in its original state the best we could and we happily were able to save the original floors, original tin ceiling, and went through multiple layers of fun before we could expose the original brick walls. (People have made comments to us saying they don't know how we tolerate being together as husband/wife 24/7...but the real test is not a work partnership...it's Laura trying to hold a heavy board above her head that Shawn's supposed to drill into the wall DIY project style that will test the waters of tolerance 😆)
September 2025 we also took over ownership of PapaRonis Pizzeria in Pavilion, which is where we live, and we rebranded it into Timmerman's Pizzeria
(This was most definitely not an overnight job as a lot of customers seemed to think it would be. It took months and months and we are still finalizing as we get close to our one year there!)
October 2025, we have our Re-Grand Opening of Henry's Deli in our permanent home on 24 Main St, Le Roy!
(At this point, Laura has voiced to Shawn he's not allowed to have anymore new business projects 😆)
All at the same time maintaining our pickles at The Rochester Public Market year round and in over 100 retail locations.
2026 so far has been a big year of focusing on what we have and how we can keep improving as a staff & as a business, because in the food industry if you become stagnant, you unfortunately can also become irrelevant. We'd like to stick around for awhile longer!
We created our deli based on how we would like to walk into a place, be treated by staff, and what kind of food we would order. We have a lot of new menu items coming soon as we head into fall, especially "Football Sunday" season! Get excited!
So much appreciation goes to our staff!!!!
Without them, we could not fully operate in the level of multiple businesses as we do. We have our joke of being everyone's deli mom & dad, but the reality is, we love them all as if they were our own. Watching our staff, especially this summer, blossom into a full operation of running the deli themselves is something we are very proud of!
Although, just because you don't see us does not necessarily mean we are not in the building 😉
Henry's Deli is very much our first big business baby!
Take a scroll down memory lane as we enjoy how far we've come from just sitting on a cooler of pickles...
THANK YOU CUSTOMERS for the continued support over these past 2 years!
We are only open for business for as long as the community supports us.
Thank you staff, for absolutely everything 🖤
Here's to the start of year 3....
All our appreciation,
Laura & Shawn Timmerman
