This is not a very good picture, but for all you pumpkin lovers out there, we have pumpkin bars! This is our last pan for this weekend, so grab it while you can.

We also had a few special requests for the Labor Day weekend so there are some extras. These include broccoli bacon salad, tortilla pinwheels, deviled eggs, strawberry pretzel dessert, lemon lush dessert, coffee cake, and pickle roll-ups. Each of these is in very limited supply, so stop in sooner rather than later if you would like some.

Megan is busy frosting cupcakes at the time of this post. We have a really good variety of flavors today.

I am back from vacation, and we are hitting the ground running today! It occurred to me this morning that it is a holiday weekend! We will be closed on Labor day, but we still have some openings Friday afternoon and Saturday if anyone would like bars, cookies, desserts, or anything else for the weekend.

Caramel Rice Krispie bars, scotcheroos, ooey gooey, knock you naked just to name a few can be ordered as a 9x13 or a half pan.

Strawberry pretzel dessert seems to be a favorite over holiday weekends. Those are also available as a 9x13 or a half pan. We can also do the lemon lush version of this one, and another favorite is Charlie Brown pie.

Speaking of pie, we have several fruit flavors to choose from, coconut cream, cappuccino pie, banana cream, peanut butter, pecan, sour cream raisin. I just picked the last of my rhubarb so this is your last chance to get a fresh rhubarb or strawberry rhubarb pie for the season.

We had some requests for tortilla pinwheels, and we can also do deviled eggs. Salads are also a popular request for Holiday weekends. We can do spaghetti salad, watergate, Oreo fluff, potato salad, Snicker salad, Twisted pasta, or broccoli bacon salad. These are $5 for a pint or $9 for a quart.

Reminder of our back to school food drive happening right now! If you could find it in your hearts to help out some local families by making even a small donation, your generosity is appreciated more than you know. Needed items include school supplies, non-perishable food items, especially ready to eat snacks and microwave meals, ingredients to make a complete meal, canned foods with pop tabs. Cash and gift cards are also accepted. (PS. Garden produce makes people very excited.) 😉

I ran across this biblical reminder this morning and thought it fit very well with our food drive. The core verses connecting a cheerful heart to giving and first fruits are 2 Corinthians 9:7 ("God loves a cheerful giver") and Proverbs 3:9 ("Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your harvest"). Together, they teach that generosity should be joyful, intentional, and given to God first.

With our food drive last fall, a gentleman came in with a small grocery bag of items. His neighbor in his apartment building was given some food items, and wasn't able to use them all. She decided to share with him. He also had some friends from church who brought him some groceries, and between the two he had (what he felt) an overabundance. So he packed up some of the things he couldn't use right away, and brought them to our food drive. He said he knows what it feels like to struggle and wanted to make sure someone else felt loved too. How many of us have cupboards that are overflowing? And yet these people who already have so little were exceedingly generous with theirs? Can you give with the same heart?

The bins are located on a table at the front of our store. We challenge you to make them overflow!
