Autism Mom Hacks!

Our 16 yr old has Autism and doesn't usually do well at new places. It takes him going somewhere 3 to 5 times to feel comfortable there. So we are always prepared to have to leave early when we go new places.

Last night we decided to go to Red Robin for dinner. Our girls are out of town this week so we had to take him with us.

I printed out a picture of the restaurant and the kids menu for him and we talked about it before we went. He was pretty excited about it.

We were able to go have dinner without having to leave early!! He ate some of his food.....I dont think he liked their mac & cheese or cheeseburger.....but in the end we got to eat our dinner without a meltdown!

Special thanks to the Layton Utah, Red Robin for accommodating us with a quiet booth in the back!
