I'm not sure who is spreading the rumors but let me assure you no decisions have been made about what is happening with the restaurant. I don't care if you know somebody that worked there or not but consider this page as the official source. It will all depend upon costs of reopening versus refurbishing and what the insurance does for us. The same thing happened to our sister restaurant a couple years back and it took her over a YEAR of fighting with the insurance to get anything done. And I don't know if you've noticed how much they have paid out and how many roofs they are replacing in this town, but it's a lot.
So, they're not in a rush to give away any money this year for sure. If you hear a rumor please direct them to this post which is the OFFICIAL word.

I don't care what you heard from who. This is the fact: we haven't heard from any inspectors/agents therefore no decisions have been made! When we do, and know what we're dealing with, we'll tell you when we're ready.
Don't listen to the good ol boy network when the words are in black and white.

A little update about our situation:
The restaurant closed down last night about 8:30p and we got the call about 9:40p that it was on fire. A walk-through was done before we close to make sure everything had been turned off and situated like it has been since we've been closing at 8:30. We're not sure if it was a fuse, electrical short, chemical interaction, or lightning from the storm. Luckily the Lawton Fire Department was in the neighborhood and had started to head this way when they saw the smoke before they got the call. Shout out to them for being proactive and trying to save as much as they could! Heroes indeed. Not sure the extent of the damages and as you all know insurance never covers everything so, we'll just have to see how much we get and how much it's going to cost. Honestly, we are overwhelmed with the amount of outpouring love and support from the community and our patrons who have offered time, money, effort, and prayers on our behalf. People like you are what makes this world a better place and we value your love and support more than you can know! We will continue to update as we can until we have a game plan. Our grandmother started this place in 1963 with an 8th grade education and I would hate to see that Legacy end with this.
