❤️ From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. ❤️

Today was our last day open for a while, and honestly, we are still trying to take in everything this weekend meant to us.

We knew our customers would come out to support us, but we never imagined the incredible amount of love we would receive. The meals, the donations, the hugs, the kind words, the well wishes, and the constant reminders that we are not alone have left us truly overwhelmed with gratitude.

Family and friends came in to help serve coffee, clear tables, clean, and do whatever was needed. People came through our doors not just to eat, but to show up for us during one of the hardest times in our lives. Every single gesture, big or small, meant more than we could ever put into words.

As many of you know, Eli is facing a serious health battle, and right now, we have to put his health first. We don’t know exactly when we’ll be able to reopen, and stepping away from the business we’ve poured our hearts into for so many years is not easy. There are a lot of unknowns ahead, and the financial uncertainty is something we’ve been carrying heavily.

Because of all of you, we can face the coming weeks and possibly months with a little less fear and a little more peace, knowing we have people behind us who genuinely care. That is a gift we will never take for granted.

Eli’s Place has always been about more than breakfast. It’s about the people, the friendships, the familiar faces, and the community that has been part of our lives for so many years. This weekend reminded us just how special that really is.

To everyone who came in, donated, shared our GoFundMe, helped out, sent a message, gave us a hug, or simply kept us in your thoughts and prayers — thank you. Thank you for showing up for us. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for reminding us that even in the hardest moments, we are surrounded by so much goodness.

We may be closing our doors for now, but we are taking all of your love with us into this next chapter. ❤️

Thank you all very much for your continued generosity and for everyone who showed up at the diner yesterday and today. The amount of support, love, and generosity we have received from friends, family, customers, and customers who have become family has been astounding.

As a reminder, we'll be open one last time tomorrow before Eli's surgery, so please stop by between 8am-12pm! Also please note that due to the volume of orders, we're beginning to run low on certain ingredients, so we may not be able to fulfill every order and may need to run on a limited menu. We also won't be able to deviate from our regular menu and won't be able to accommodate substitutions or other specialty orders. We also will continue to be dine-in only and not be taking takeout or Doordash orders.

Thank you very much to everyone who came out to see us today! We continue to be overwhelmed by everyone's support and generosity. It meant a lot to see so many people stop into the diner today.

We are absolutely blown away by the support from everyone in just 1 day. Words cannot express how stunned we are and how much relief is felt from everyone's incredible generosity.

❤️ A Message from Our Family at Eli’s Place ❤️

To our wonderful customers, friends, and the Lawrence community,

With heavy hearts, we want to share some difficult news with all of you.

As many of you know, Eli has been facing some serious health challenges and is preparing for surgery next week. After everything he has been through recently, his doctors have given him the okay to do a light-duty type of work one last time before his surgery.

Eli is mustering up the strength to be at the Diner for a few more days: this Friday from 7am-11am and this Saturday & Sunday from 8am-12pm, before we have to close our doors for what may be several weeks or possibly months while he undergoes treatment and recovers.

This has not been an easy decision for our family. Eli’s Place has been a part of our lives and the Merrimack Valley community since 2008. For nearly two decades, we have welcomed you into our little diner, shared countless conversations, served you breakfast, and built relationships that mean more to us than words can express.

We are doing everything we can to find someone who can step in and cook while Eli is away, so that we may be able to keep the diner running during his recovery. We are hopeful that we can find the right person and reopen as soon as possible, but right now, we have to take things one day at a time and put his health first.

If you are able to stop by this weekend, we would absolutely love to see you. Whether you’ve been coming here for years or have only recently become one of our customers, your support, kind words, and familiar faces would mean so much to our family during this difficult time.

Asking for patience and understanding is not easy, but we wanted to be honest with the people who have been such a big part of our journey.

Thank you for every breakfast, every visit, every smile, and every bit of love you have shown Eli’s Place over the years. We are incredibly grateful to be part of this community, and we hope this is only a temporary goodbye until we can welcome you back again.

Please come see us this Saturday and Sunday, 8 AM–12 PM, and keep Eli in your thoughts and prayers as he prepares for surgery next week. ❤️
