The Roost is the name of our family farm in Western Kansas and stands for working hard for what you love. Timber claimed in the late 1800's the Kinter family established their roots, working the land, raising a family and falling in the love with beautiful Kansas landscape that surrounded them. The Roost on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence is inspired by that same strong Kansas work ethic and determination. It will focus most of its energy on the art of hostipality accomponied by delicious, consistent food and drink to suit your every need. Our menu items will be created by careful hands with inventory puchased from a variety of local and specialty purveyor's. Fine espresso and coffee will be brought to you by Broadway Coffee out of Kansas City and New Mission Coffee from right here in Lawrence. Our cocktail menu will focus on libations that compliment our specific cuisine, and our bakery will feature numerous fresh baked daily items soon to be common classics. Many bakery items may be purchased in bulk for special events and ordered to meet specific dietary needs.

Hey there… today is Anina’s last day with us over here at The Roost. She has been with us for years - consistently solid, dependable, kind and seriously… one of the coolest people ever. She has held down the fort at the host stand, directing countless guests through our doors alongside all the other rolls she has played over her time here with us, surely she has taken care of you. We will miss her dearly. Please swing by today and wish her well. Anina, we hope the next venture for you is fabulous.

We regret to inform you that we will be closed tomorrow. Some repairs need to be made to our sprinkler system. We’ve been on a waiting list since the end of May. Thank goodness it’s finally happening. We apologize for the inconvenience and we look forward to seeing you all bright and early Thursday morning. Please enjoy this beautiful photo of the farm taken by my Mom. I hope it can soften the blow. Get outside tomorrow and enjoy some of this perfect weather we’re having.
