As recently returning native Lawrencians, we wanted to open a restaurant. Once we found the location along the river we knew this was the place. We believe that NoLo and the riverfront just north of downtown is the most under appreciated and underserved area of Lawrence. We are excited and happy to fill this need and hope you enjoy!

It’s so bittersweet to hear of all the people who say they miss The Levee Cafe. GOOD NEWS Grounded Coffee will be opening soon. While we’ll be a coffee shop without a full kitchen, we’ve tried to bring back as many Levee favorites as our tiny cooking / baking abilities will allow us. Follow Grounded Coffee for an opening announcement soon!

The coffee shop was previously Henry’s Coffee, however since we did a full remodel and know Henry’s Coffee holds such a place in peoples hearts and memories from the 20+ years it was open, we’ve changed the name to create a new journey with the same mentality of inclusion and community OG Henry’s created over the years.
