Tonight we had the honor of sharing the love our community has shown us. This would not have been possible without some amazing individuals. Adam and Taunya Dawkins of Bad Rooster BBQ (national champion holder), Terry and Wayne Mitchum of Texvonia Meat Market, Huck's Cafe , Brenda & Tom Heron & the beautiful Honeysuckle House Venue in Lavonia. We could never begin to express the depth of our gratitude. Thank you to everyone that came out and made the night so special.

March, 2026 would have been the 5 year anniversary of Southern Appalachian Smokehouse. On the day of opening, we had no idea what to expect but we knew one thing for sure, we would create a space that everyone would feel welcome, loved and appreciated. We wanted our door to be one that you would enter and leave the worries of the world behind, if only for a little while. In the process, we fell in love with this community. Oh the friends we have made ❤️ You’ve allowed us to enjoy and share precious moments in your lives. We’ve watched as you’ve grown your families, celebrated engagements, the birth of a new baby, that baby’s 1st Birthday, high school graduations and so many more pivotal moments. You’ve supported us in a way we could have never imagined and for that, we will be forever grateful.
Tuesday was a very sad day. It still doesn’t seem real. Our Lavonia Police dept, EMS Franklin Co Sheriffs dept, Lavonia Fire Department, emergency response members,our neighbors and our staff fought so hard to save our restaurant…. your restaurant. You came out in droves to show your love, to give a very needed hug. You stood right there beside us thru it all, with tears in your eyes. We could never begin to express the depth of our gratitude. The overwhelming love we have for you. Thank you for every text, every call and especially every prayer.
Over the next few days, we ask for your continued prayer for us and our staff as we navigate the difficult journey ahead. Please continue to support your small local businesses 🫶
