40 oz Tumbler Challenge: Yeti vs. Frost Buddy vs. Hydro Flask
With all the claims about which tumbler keeps drinks cold the longest, I decided to do my own test.
At 9:30 a.m., I filled three 40 oz tumblers—a Yeti, Frost Buddy, and Hydro Flask—with the same amount of ice and water. I placed all three outside on my back patio table in direct Arizona sun.
By 10:00 a.m., it was already 103°F, and the temperature continued climbing throughout the day.
Here were the results:
🥉 Yeti – The first to lose all of its ice. By 3:30 p.m., the water was essentially room temperature.
🥈 Frost Buddy – Still had a little ice left around 1:30 p.m. Even after the ice was gone, the water was still cold at 3:30 p.m.
🥇 Hydro Flask – The clear winner. It still had ice remaining at 3:30 p.m., and the water was still ice cold.
This wasn't a scientific laboratory test—just a real-world Arizona summer test in extreme heat. Based on my experience today, the Hydro Flask outperformed the Frost Buddy, and both outperformed the Yeti.
