I almost never use templates or curved rulers and I always draw my own designs. It wasn’t always like this.

With this design i drew one side and then traced the mirroring half but even then I couldn’t get the C scrolls to be identical. So I re-drew them on the parchment. Here you can see the geometry I use to mirror them.
Maybe not perfect but close enough to fool the eye and done by hand always.

SO in love with the pictures from Kelly & Josh’s wedding.

NORA Events came up with the most beautiful experience for their guests.
Personalized charcuterie boards as wedding favors! So so cute and perfect for the foodies Kelly and Josh are.

We planned for weeks the entire process, from what wood to get to how manage the high volume and staying in budget.
I personalized most of them in studio and did the remainder on site. Lots of trips dropping and picking up were also involved.

So in love with the results and the pride that providing such experience brought to us.

Lately I’ve been reflecting on what it means to be successful.
With social media rubbing in your face so many material things and lifestyles of the ultra rich, constantly asking you to buy something or go somewhere.
I won’t deny I want all the designer shoes 🤭😆 but a family that loves me back, decades long friendships, a magic room I call my studio and people who see my work like this, makes me feel pretty successful.

I am so successful and those are my wishes for you (whoever is reading this) too.

As I sit on my desk to practice Madarasz Script I reflect on HOW FU€+*%^G INSANE Calligraphy is.

It’s very much like gymnastics in the way you do crazy fast movements (in a circle or oval) but in a very controlled way just to land in the perfect spot with complete control of your whole body. How you are expected to be in control but at the same time move freely and your brain has to follow no matter how uncomfortable it may be………except there’s no risk of dying in the attempt 😅🤭

How I move from the precision of creating invitations for luxury brands, to the precision but artistic freedom of engrossings to the rapid confident movements of a flourished bird by or business penmanship…

So many years later and it never ceases to challenge me 😮‍💨
