Project of the weekend-
Milk-Washed Dunkin’ Donuts Old Fashioned.
I was able captures the nostalgic flavor of coffee, glazed donuts, vanilla icing, and warm baking spices while maintaining the silky clarity that milk washing provides.
Milk-Washed Dunkin’ Donuts Old Fashioned
Batch for 6 cocktails
12 oz bourbon (higher proof, around 100 proof works best)
2 oz coffee liqueur
2 oz cold brew coffee concentrate
1 oz maple syrup
1 oz brown sugar syrup (2:1)
½ oz vanilla extract
3 dashes orange bitters
8 dashes aromatic bitters
Pinch of sea salt, cinnamon, nutmeg
1½ oz fresh lemon juice
5 oz warm whole milk
Method:
1. Combine all cocktail ingredients, except for milk.
2. Slowly pour the cocktail into the warm whole milk (never the other way around).
3. Let sit for 30–45 minutes.
4. Filter through a coffee filter until crystal clear.
5. Refrigerate.
Serve:
3 oz milk-washed cocktail
