Today, June 29th, we were driving through the breathtaking Continental Divide in the Gila National Forest, dreaming up all the delicious specials we couldn’t wait to serve you this week. ❤️
Then, as soon as we had cell service, our phones started filling with heartbreaking news. A TRUCK had crashed into our cafe.
By the grace of God, everyone involved walked away safely. That is what matters most. 🙏❤️
Our little cafe took a hit, though. Our bathroom is going to need quite the makeover and is currently out of commission. Repairs will begin first thing tomorrow morning, which means we will be temporarily closed while everything is made safe again.
My heart is so incredibly full from the outpouring of love, messages, phone calls, prayers, and concern you’ve shown us today. It reminds me why we’ve poured our hearts into this little cafe for the past 10 years. You all truly are family to us.
When I think about it, it’s almost unbelievable that we had packed up the entire shop and closed early Saturday afternoon so our whole cafe crew could head out on an adventure together, and that we’re always closed on Mondays. Sometimes life’s timing is impossible to explain, and today we’re just incredibly thankful that no one was inside and that everyone is safe.
This is just an unexpected detour in our story—not the end of the road. We’ve weathered plenty over the last decade, and with your love and support, we’ll get through this too.
Thank you for every prayer, every kind word, every message, and every bit of understanding. Please keep an eye on our updates as repairs get underway.
We already can’t wait to unlock those doors again, fire up the espresso machine, fill the cafe with the smell of fresh baking, and welcome every one of you back home.
We love you all so much. See you again soon. ❤️👩🏻🍳☕
