If you guys have a moment, please read this story. God bless everybody involved. What a great story this is God bless, healthy life, and God bless the young lady that turn things around.
Stay with me for this one… We met Tia when she was a freshman in high school. She was a typical teenager, a little bit of an attitude, skipped school, horrible grades. She was always very honest with me (as far as I know 🙃). She lived with her nana, talked frequently of moving elsewhere. She switched schools - even though we all told her it wasn’t a good idea. She came in once with a highly inappropriate tshirt, I gave her one of ours & asked her to change after explaining that ladies do not wear that stuff. She did. She was always very sweet to me - maybe because her favorite boba tea was in my hands 🤣🧋
I offered to help her with school work because she wasn’t getting the support at school that she needed. She didn’t take me up on it, and that was ok. I told her to reach out anytime she needed to. I would meet any day after school.
She asked for a job. I told her not until her grades are up and was going to school everyday. She never asked again so I figured she was still struggling. I’d see her at Walmart or the festivals and always ask “how are your grades, are you getting to school on time, are you going every day, are you listening to Nana?” She would always answer honestly.
I didn’t see her for a while and figured she didn’t want to answer my questions. 🤣 she did move for a short time, and moved back. By her senior year (maybe end of junior year) she started to turn things around. She joined the wrestling team, her grades were improving and she was going to school daily.
TODAY she came in to tell me that she graduated and is done 2 weeks early with 46 credit hours (40 is required). 🎓
This little girl stole a part of my heart 4 years ago. Idk if I made a difference in her life but she definitely made a difference in mine ❤️🥹.
