Built by Morris Terry in 1958, The LaPlace Frostop has become a fixture on Airline Hwy (US 61) in LaPlace, Louisiana. Terry leased out the restaurant until 1973 when his daughter Evelyn, and her husband Jimmie Toler, took over. Even though The LaPlace Frostop has completed two renovations, the first in 1981 and again in 1996, it has retained its old-fashioned, drive-in atmosphere. Today, The LaPla

49,000 FOLLOWERS!

Somewhere in the middle of Saturdayโ€™s incredible 68th Anniversary celebration, we crossed 49,000 followers!

And while the crowd was packing the parking lot here in LaPlace, another crowd has been growing right along with us online, with people following from across the country and around the world.

With generations of friends and customers here under the mug and thousands more following along from near and far, we couldnโ€™t have picked a better day to reach another milestone.

They met right here at LaPlace Frostop in 1982.

She was working behind the grill. He was coming in for burgers. And little notes kept showing up on his orders, thanks to another Frostop employee who was quietly trying to get the two of them together.

Apparently, she knew what she was doing.

This October, theyโ€™ll celebrate 39 years of marriage.

68 years under the mug means a lot of stories. Weโ€™re so glad this is one of them.

Our 68th Anniversary Celebration gave us so many wonderful moments, from familiar faces and longtime friends to families making brand-new memories under the mug.

Today was absolutely incredible. We cannot thank everyone enough who came out to celebrate ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿด ๐˜†๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜€ with us.

Five years ago tonight.

This photo was taken at 5:24 p.m. on August 28, 2021.

It would become the last unofficial photo of our mug before Hurricane Ida.

The next day, everything changed.

Five years later, weโ€™re still here. The new mug is still spinning. And tomorrow, we celebrate 68 years under the mug.
