(701)

Start your morning with a fresh cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast as you watch the fog rise in the Gorge. When the sun goes down, join us for a mouthwatering burger, a juicy steak, or the best BBQ in West Virginia. Looking to host a wedding or private party? Talk to us about booking Smokey’s as an all-in-one caterer and event venue! Smokey’s is named after the late Dana “Smokey” Morton, who was

a former bus driver who shuttled adventures to and from the river. A notable figure in Adventures on the Gorge’s history, Smokey is still remembered for his big smile, handlebar mustache, and warm spirit–the latter of which we strive to keep alive for everyone who walks through the restaurant’s doors.

Did you know that Smokey's and Chetty's Pub are named after two brothers that were the first bus drivers at Class VI?

Chester Wayne “Chetty” Morton, bus driver and mechanic extraordinaire, became Class VI‘s first bus driver in 1978. At an age when most people begin retirement, Chetty started an 18-year stint with Class VI, now part of AOTG.

Dana “Smokey” Morton came to Class VI River Runners in 1979 when the company purchased a 1954 GMC bus from Oak Hill City Lines. After his passing in 1988, he is still remembered by his long, handlebar mustache and warm smile.

We're so lucky to carry on the history that our legacy companies started, they were true pioneers in the industry. Do you have a story about these two, please share in the comments!
