So what exactly is a Pennsylvania Swankey?
Long before Pennsylvania became known for its lagers, farmhouse brewers were making simple, refreshing ales known as Swankeys.
Our Alice's Swankey Ale pays tribute to Alice Guest, proprietor and brewer of the historic Blue Anchor Tavern, Philadelphiaโs first gathering place and landing point for William Penn in 1682.
This historic Pennsylvania Swankey Ale revives a nearly forgotten farmhouse tradition: a light, effervescent beer brewed from simple ingredients. Notes of molasses, brown sugar, and graham cracker lead to a silky, refreshing finish with a hint of cooling ginger spice.
Unlike anything else on our tap list, it's a taste of Pennsylvania's brewing past brought back to life.
Available on tap and to-go on Wednesday 6/10.
