NORTH WOODS TO SALUTE GRANITE GRIND
For the past decade the Granite Grind on Main Street in Lancaster has become known not only for its culinary,bakery offerings and exceptional coffee creations but also as a venue where regional performers could share their music with the public.
With the announcement that Kelly and Will Murphy will be closing the Granite Grind in October, the musical ensemble North Woods, which has appeared at the restaurant on numerous occasions, including Christmas time, is performing a free concert thanking the Murphys for what they have done for the region in supporting music and the community.
North Woods, which features fiddles, flutes, mandolin, cello and keyboard, will be bringing their blend of Americana and Celtic tunes to the Granite Grind between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22. There is no charge to attend and the restaurant will be open for business as normal. Plans are in the works for proprietor Kelly Murphy to join members of the group in a couple of numbers on her clarinet.
