Scientists Found a Cannabis Compound Inside a Totally Different Plant

Scientists have discovered cannabidiol, a compound in cannabis known as CBD, in a common Brazilian plant, opening potential new avenues to produce the increasingly popular substance.
The team found CBD in the fruits and flowers of a plant known as Trema micrantha blume, a shrub which grows across much of the South American country and is often considered a w**d, molecular biologist Rodrigo Moura Neto of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro told AFP last year.

The evidence for cannabidiol health benefits

CBD has been touted for a wide variety of health issues. Animal studies, and self-reports or research in humans, suggest CBD may also help with:

Anxiety: Studies and clinical trials are exploring the common report that CBD can reduce anxiety.

Insomnia: Studies suggest that CBD may help with both falling asleep and staying asleep, in part by helping address chronic pain and anxiety.

Chronic pain: Increasingly, human studies are substantiating the claims that CBD helps control pain. One animal study from the European Journal of Pain suggests CBD could help lower pain and inflammation due to arthritis when applied to skin. Other research identifies how CBD may inhibit inflammatory and neuropathic pain, which are difficult to treat.

Addiction: CBD can help lower cravings for to***co and he**in under certain conditions, according to some research in humans. Animal models of addiction suggest it may also help lessen cravings for other addictive substances such as alcohol, cannabis, opiates, and stimulants.

Big News - We Moved!

We are living in Camarillo, CA to be closer to Harry’s dad (who just turned 91) so we can help out when needed. He was a years long resident of Colorado, and like us, he is deeply enjoying the warm sunny days here in California’s strawberry and avocado basket.

Sans all that snow, LaLa has turned back into her energetic self, with daily bouts of zoomies and lots of walks and lots of treats. She’s is also deeply enjoying the sunny days and she cannot get enough of all the lush green grass!

Flora’s is chugging along, and don't worry! We DID plan ahead and made big batches before we left. Once the tests come back, stay tuned for the New Batch Notification E-mails in the next few weeks.
