Dear Lakeland,
Since 2015, The Poor Porker has entertained, inspired, loved and indulged Lakelanders by offering an eclectic blend of live music, art, and it’s famous New Orleans-inspired beignets and coffee. We are both proud and saddened to announce that, effective July 4, 2022, the Poor Porker will be closing its doors permanently to make way for the next generation of food, art, retail, and entertainment at 801 East Main Street - Unfiltered Lakeland.
We hope you will join us on July 3rd for a final farewell to the Poor Porker, as we celebrate all it has been, its beloved founders, and our loyal followers.
Our Farewell Party, which will coincide with Lakeland’s Red, White, and Kaboom fireworks celebration, will kick off at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 3rd with “A Taste of Brunch with Our Noire Kitchen.” Brunch will be offered until until 3 p.m. after which, the Poor Porker will serve a traditional Independence Day staple of gourmet grilled hot dogs. Our special musical guest, Daniel Pepin, will kick off the evening entertainment with live music beginning at 6 p.m. and will perform until the City’s fireworks show begins over Lake Mirror at 9 p.m. Poor Porker guests can view the fireworks from our courtyard free of charge until the conclusion of the show, after which the Poor Porker will close permanently.
Tentatively scheduled to open in early fall, Unfiltered Lakeland, similar to our sister locations in Bartow and Punta Gorda, will partner with local artisans, retailers, and restauranteurs to offer a unique dining, retail, and entertainment experience. Our partnerships include Ethos Roasters, Our Noire Kitchen, Bandidas Lakeland, DOU Bakehouse, Uncle Nick’s Bagels, Vintage Warehouse, Luka Blue Vintage, East of These, My Crazy Plant Life, Castles in the Air, Robin Ireland, The Beatnik Exchange, and Rebel Juju. For those of you who just can’t live without those beignets, they’re coming back in the fall too. Unfiltered Lakeland will continue to offer beignets as a nod to the Poor Porker and its founders. Please follow us on social media throughout the summer to stay informed about renovations, future plans and partners, and and to receive updates about our breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings. We look forward to the final reveal and our new and exciting beginning here in Lakeland.
Much Love,
Geanie, Tray, Wesley, and the Unfiltered / Poor Porker Teams
