Dear friends, customers, and community,
I want to take a moment to speak from the heart and clear up some confusion.
Some of you may have seen my post about putting the restaurant up for sale — and I understand why that may have made it seem like I’ve already left. But I want you to know: I’m still here, and TaOne Asian Fusion is still open. I’ve been going through a very difficult and personal time, and I hope you’ll allow me to explain.
My husband has dementia, and his condition has worsened in recent months. I am his full-time caregiver. My mom helps during the day, but because of his restlessness and needs, I sometimes have to bring him to the restaurant with me.
I know this hasn’t been easy for some customers — sometimes he stares at people, doesn’t speak clearly, or appears confused or upset. I want to say this as gently and honestly as I can: he isn’t trying to be mean, rude, or offensive. He simply can’t communicate or behave the way he used to. Dementia is cruel in that way.
I’ve been overwhelmed trying to manage everything — caregiving, medical emergencies, and running the business — all at once. But I want to make it clear: I’m still here. I’m still cooking, still showing up, and still hoping to keep TaOne going with your support.
There have also been days when I’ve had to open late, close early, or leave unexpectedly. Sometimes it's due to ER visits or emergency calls from the police or fire department when something happens at home. I know this can be frustrating, and I truly apologize for any inconvenience or confusion it may have caused.
The truth is, I’m struggling — emotionally, physically, and financially. Between rent, legal fees, and medical costs, it’s been hard to keep everything going.
If you’ve ever enjoyed a meal here, please come back. If you haven’t yet, I would be so grateful if you gave us a try. Every visit, every takeout order, every bit of support makes a real difference right now.
Thank you for reading, for understanding, and for standing by me during this time. Your kindness means more than words can say.
With all my heart,
Parita Wilson
Owner, TaOne Asian Fusion
